APC, APGA, LP members decamp to PDP in Bauchi

Many prominent politicians and supporters of APC, APGA, and Labour Party in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi state have decamped from their different political parties to the ruling People’s Democratic Party.

Receiving them at the local council secretariat, the chairman PDP Zaki Local Government Alhaji Umar Faruk Rodi said the decampees were former members of the party who decamped to other opposition parties.

According to him,“ I want to assure our decampees that PDP is giving them with warm welcome. The party is also using this opportunity to appeal to our members who are still in the valley of indecision to make up their minds and return to where they belong. PDP is assuring that they will continue to be treated as any other member without any apathy”

“I also urge our members who have returned back to the fold to maintain ,support and work towards the success of the party in view of its popular policies and programs that uplift the people’s welfare,” he urged.

The chairman said that the party will makeup for its lapses and ensure that every contestant during the 2015 election has a level playing ground.

In his speech, the chairman caretaker committee of the local government, Dr.Muhammad Babbaji Katagum, said the party has been transforming the lives of the citizenry through the provision of basic infrastructure in the state.

He said that the people of Zaki Local government have immensely benefitted from development programs of the state government and advised the decampees to remain trustworthy and committed towards the success of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Alhaji Baka Maula, assured that they will work towards the progress and success of the party.

“We will see that PDP is enthroned in the state and eschew the politics of sentiments,” he assured.
