Angry mob at the weekend set two suspected armed robbers ablaze in Mosogar community in Delta State for their alleged failed attempt to rape a 13 year old girl after robbing her parents
Eyewitness, Michael Toshola said that the two young men identified as Mike David and Ejiro Oghenevo allegedly attacked a truck driver and his wife at their house around Uduaka quarters at Sublane junction in Nosogar where they dispossessed them of their money at gunpoint and made attempt to rape their daughter.
Unfortunately, however, the thieves were rounded up by angry mob who responded to their distressed calls.
They were said to have been set ablaze with tyres and kerosene that allegedly left them consumed to death instantly and amidst shouting and crying for help that were to no avail.
But the state Commissioner of Police in the state, Adeleke Adeyinka who confirmed the incident said investigation was ongoing with a view to ensuring justice in the alleged robbery and attempted rape of the 13 year old girl in the area.
He said” after collecting the phones and cash from the parents of the girl ,they insisted on sleeping with her and that was when the truck driver raised the alarm and they tried to flee but rounded up by the angry mob who responded to the couples distress calls, Investigation is ongoing.”
