EsanEelders’ Forum has said the legacy of Chief Tony Anenih as indelible, describing him as a bridge builder and the fortress of the traditional heritage of epic proportion.
In the joint statement by the Vice president and Public Relations Officer of the group, Prof. Patrick Onolemhenmhen and Lawrence Odiase, on behalf of the group, said the “towering experience politician saved Nigeria from drifting.
Chief Tony Anenih, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), passed on during undisclosed illness at a private hospital in Abuja on October 28, 2018.
The group in the statement which was made available by the group in Benin City, said Anenih’s coordination and party dialogue, helped in no small measure to foster unity in the Country.
It said the people of Esanland in particular and Nigeria at large, will greatly miss his wise counsel particularly in the world of politics and the business.
He was “a bridge builder whose towering experience in political adventures, has on several occasions, saved the ship of the Nigeria state from seeking and drifting needlessly and aimlessly into the precipice”.
The forum commiserated with the Anenih’s family and reinstated that he (Anenih) was a defender and promoter of Esan traditional Institutions, cultural heritage and values.
