As this year’s celebration of Eid-el-Kabir enters its second day, the Chairman of Abuja (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has implored Muslims to pray for the end of Cholera and COVID-19 pandemicin some parts of the Council and FCT in general.
Candido, who felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, also charged Muslims to use the period to intensify prayers for Nigeria to enable her overcome the problems bedevilling her.
The Chairman, in his Sallah message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Jibreel Muhammmad Babangoshi, said the significance of the period is to encourage piety and total commitment to Allah.
He also urged Muslims to emulate Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by imbibing the ideals of sacrifice, honesty, charity and generosity examplified by the Prophet.
“As we celebrate the Eid-el-kabir, I implore all to pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Cholera outbreak in some parts of AMAC and FCT in general.
“I’m also calling on all to continue to show concern through observing the COVID-19 protocols, during and after the Eid-el-kabir period, as part of safety measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded disease.
“Candido also assured Amacians that his administration is highly committed towards moving the Council foward with less than a year left for his team to go”, the statement added.
