The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido has charged leaders and all stakeholders in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace peace as the main bedrock of unity in the party.
Candido, while making the clarion call, added that the party leaders should not pretend that things are alright with the stakeholders.
According to an electronic statement posted by Muhammad Kabir Abubakar, Media Assistant to the AMAC Chairman, Candido spoke at the formal inauguration of APC Caretaker Committee members of the AMAC chapter of the party, held Wednesday, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The AMAC Chairman also appealed for more unity as he is ready to work with any aspirant who emerges as winner in the upcoming primary election.
He however further appealed for extension of time for the leaders of Caretaker Committee in FCT, as a result of electioneering year ahead.
The statement adds: “Having Area Council election and party primaries at the same time will be a bit difficult for the party to cope up it”.
Candido, who congratulated all the party Caretaker committee members, stressed the importance of being focused on the task of handling the affairs of the party for the best interest of all.
“The stakeholders at the occasion include: Hon. Musa Tanko Abari, Hon. Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, Hon. Dr. Mustapha Lamorde, Hon. Yahaya Alhassan Gwagwa, Hon. Danlami Zuru, Hajiya Salamatu Jibrin, all ward chairmen and local government executive members,” the statement added.
