The allegations of non-performance and lopsided appointments leveled against Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido has been dismissed as untrue, baseless and totally unjustifiable.
Making this assertion, the Chief Press Secretary to the AMAC Chairman, Dayo Lawal, said the Council noted with regret the purported allegations made by a prominent former AMAC Chairman, Ambassador Ayuba Ngbako in a section of the media claiming lapses in Candido’s administration with lopsided appointments, resulting in non performance.
Recall that Ngbako, Gbagyi elder statesman who was Ambassador to the Gambia during President Olusegun Obasanjo in a chat with some journalists amonst others accused Candido of non performance and lopsided appointments.
A statement signed by the media aide reads” we categorically wish to state that these allegations are untrue, baseless and totally unjustifiable.
“It is a common knowledge to all the residents of AMAC that Candido has in the last two and a half years raised the bench mark of governance in AMAC through the provision of meaningful projects across the 12 political ward in the Area Council.
“Indeed, these projects have touched every sector ranging from electricity, rural water supply, education, health care delivery, road construction to market development and many more, giving life to the rural dwellers which is the essence of grassroots governance, contrary to the Ngbako claims that these projects had no suitability.”
He continues: “And for him to accuse Candido of lopsided appointments is laughable, because it can be verified that Candido in all his appointments have truly reflected the dreams of the founding fathers of the nation’s capital where in the Council people from all the geo-political zones are represented.
“For Ngbako to bring out his biological son, who has no experience against Candido that have over two decades experience in grassroots administration shows that he has lost touches with reality in the Council and exhibited his selfish reasoning.
“We will like to invite him to pay a visit to all the wards to see the unprecedented projects initiated by Candido-led administration.”
