The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State, Mr. Chris Mamman, who was reported to have been abducted last Monday by unknown persons at the Aren Eggon’s palace in Nasarawa Eggon town has resurfaced.
Explaining his ordeal to newsmen at his campaign office yesterday, the governorship aspirant said he was rather whisked away by some security agencies from the unknown hired thugs who were out to lynch him at a meeting convened by the Eggon traditional council to see how the three Eggon sons in the governorship race could reach a compromise.
Mr. Mamman said the motive behind his attack by the hired thugs was because of he is the most popular and most acceptable of the two other contestants from his Eggon ethnic nationality, hence according to him, “the attack was politically motivated.”
His words: “I want to use this forum to address you on the rumour spreading round that the attack on my person is because of misappropriation of funds belonging to the Eggon Cultural Development Association, ECDA, which before now I was its president.”
“As for the money collected at the last ‘Azihilli Day’ which is meant for the construction of the Eggon House, it will interest you to know that I have fully rendered the account to the Aren Eggon, the acting president of ECDA and his exco when I resigned to contest for the PDP primaries.”
He therefore further challenged any Eggon person that gave him any money up to the tune of N25 million or whatever amount being alleged to come out and say so. “I am simply scandalized by this outrageous lies and deliberate falsehood,” he maintained.
