Aiteo Cup final: Kano pillars arrive Benin after motivation

Twenty-two players, back room staff and the technical crew of Kano Pillars arrived Benin yesterday ahead of the Aiteo Cup final against Rangers Int’l on Wednesday 24th October 2018.
It could be recalled, the last time Kano pillars played in the finals was far back 1991, were the lost to no other team than El-kanemi warriors.
These will be the second time Kano pillars will be playing in the final of one of the prestigious tournament in the Nigerian Football .
Can they make history by winning the cup for the first time or history will prevail over the team losing again in the final.
It might interest you to know that the opponent Enugu Rangers Int’l have loss in the finals in four different occasions.
While the last time they won the Aiteo cup was far back 1983.
Thirty-five years of being torphyless for Rangers International and also Twenty-eight years of being trophyless for Kano pillars as far as Aiteo cup is concerned.
This year’s Aiteo Cup is all about history, where would the pendulum swing Enugu or Kano, few days away, time will tell who goes home with the 2018 Aiteo Cup trophy .
Meanwhile, the State deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna assured Kano Pillars that they will receive “something tangible” should they go on to win the Aiteo Cup for the first time in their 28-year history.
“You will get something tangible when you win the cup. “You will be proud to have been associated with Kano Pillars.” He said both he and executive Governor Ganduje will be at the cup final.
Kano Pillars Gawuna said the 11 match bonuses owed the team will be cleared before the final and the team will be flown to Benin City on their way to Asaba.
He then gave the team a token of 200,000 from his pocket, while also giving 50,000 Naira to goalkeeper David Obiozo, who he picked as Man of the Match in the semifinal against regional rivals Katsina United.
