The wife of the President, Aisha Muhmmadu Buhari has charged Nigerian leaders to be fully committed in the empowerment of women and youth for the social economic development of the country.
Aisha Buhari stated this in Bauchi yesterday, during the graduation ceremony of 1,000 women and youth trained on skill acquisition Programme under her pet project’Future Assured”
According to her women and youth contribute immensely to the development of the Nation hence the need to empower them to be self reliance and have a brighter future.
She disclosed that over 10,000 women are youth have been trained on different skills acquisition Programme across the county since inception of Future Assured Programme.
She said that, “ the beneficiaries of this programme are now successful entrepreneurs in their various state thereby boosting the economy of our nation”.
The President’s wife thereby re-assured her commitment to continue to champion the course of women and youth in the areas of education, health and empowerment especially to the less privileged in the Society.
In his address, Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi state commended the President’s wife for her love and support for the state in providing vocational training for the people saying her labour and sacrifice are yielding success and reward.
He expressed optimism that the beneficiaries will achieve greater feet in business world as well as enable to self reliance and have brighter future.
Abubakar expressed his administration determination to continue to improve women and youth potentials to boost productivity and improve revenue of the state.
He enjoyed the beneficiaries to take advantage of the skills acquired to be gainfully employed and self reliance.
Also the wife of the Governor Hajia Hadiza Abubakar appreciated the wife of the President for the training as well as her recent medical treatment carried out in the state where over 3,000 people benefited.
In his welcome address, the Excutive Chairman of Bauchi state Commission for youths and women Rehabilitaion and Development (BACYWORD)) Ahmed Umar Farouk said the commission successfully selected,supervised and trained the beneficiaries on different skills acquisition Programme under Futured assured.
Farouk said the commission has register over 150,000 unemployed adding that “we are still receiving entries daily from those between the ages of 18to 40 years with a view to establishing a sustainable database for present usage and future planing purposes for youths and women.
He also disclosed that the Commission has rehabilitated over 1,000 women and youth suffering from drug abuse.
