Ahmadu Bello University Teaching (ABUTH), Hospital Shika, Zaria is working towards computerizing all the hospital activities.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Ahmed Umdagas Hamidu disclosed this while speaking to the media in Zaria yesterday.
According to him, when the computerization is completed, people coming to hospital don’t need to carry hospital cards or bring money in cash, instead, one can use option to made transactions by using ATM or cash transfers.
The Chief Medical Director also said, since his assumption in office he has tried to address so many issues that slow the hospital services which include payment of over 90 per cent of the money owned by staff from 2014 to date
He added, that within this period, the cleanliness of the hospital has been improved, staff commitment to work has been changed and staff welfare is improved.
According to him, very soon the hospital will receive a boost by having 64 City Slide Scan machines which is the first in the whole Kaduna State.
Speaking on the Accident and Emergency unit, he explained that it is receiving serious attention because all the air condition in the theatre room are functional facilities.
Prof. Umdagas also said, the hospital management is working towards having accommodation in the hospital for doctors on call duty.
He assured that the hospital will be transformed to be the best among teaching hospitals in the country.
