Agitations: Christian leaders to converge in Benin, pray for Nigeria’s unity

Over 1, 500 Christian leaders across different denominations have concluded plans to converge in Benin City, the Edo state capital, to among others dedicate Nigeria’s unity to Almighty God in prayers.
The 7-day programme which is at the instance of by the Gospel Light International Ministry (GLIM) – New Covenant Gospel Church (NCGC) and the National President of PFN Rev Dr Felix Omobude, will feature prayers against the rising spate of violent crimes including insurgency, kidnapping, armed robbery, assassination and other criminalities in the nation.
Deacon Ralph Okhiria, Media Aide to the Convener of the programme, Dr. Omobude, in a statement, said “several issues plaguing Nigeria as a nation will be handed over to God in prayer” at the programme which is bid to begin next week.
It said renowned Christian leaders including Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Bishop Simeon Okah, Pastor Lawrence Achudume and Dr Reggies Wenyika , would be in attendance along with renowned gospel singers, Dr. Ron Kenoly and Evangelist Nathaniel Bassey would be the lead singers during the BABIC Christian event, tagged: “A City Set On A Hill”.
According to the statement, “It is our expectation that there shall be a harvest of miracles, signs and wonders, even as we have God’s assurance that the lame will walk, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, the captives set free, the abundance of messages of salvation and both spiritual and physical healing for our nation Nigeria”, the statement said.
