Aggrieved governorship aspirants on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the recently conducted primaries for Ondo State will today storm the party headquarters to voice out their challenge the outcome of the process.
Recall that the APC had yesterday conducted its primary election for Ondo State, in which the incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu emerged victorious, after three contestants stepped down for him on the prompting of the party leadership both at state and national levels.
However, he defeated six other contestants who defied the party pressure to contest against him, with a wide margin of votes, though the opponents had alleged that they did not see the deligates lists before the primary election, insinuating that the list might have been altered.
To this end, these grievances are what the APC appeal committee is expected to thrash out today with the six aggrieved governorship aspirants in the Ondo primary election.
A statement confirming that the appeal committee sitting begins today which was ssued by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, said “The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ondo State Governorship Primary Election was successfully conducted on Monday, July 20, 2020.
“Subsequently, the Primary Election Appeal Committee will begin sitting at the Party’s National Secretariat on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.”
