The third class chief of Rubochi in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Alhaji Ibrahim Pada, has regained freedom four days after he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Confirming the development, the FCT police spokesperson, ASP Miriam Yusuf, told the newsmen that the monarch was released on Saturday unhurt by his abductors.
He explained that the FCT anti-kidnapping squad command had been working tirelessly to rescue the monarch and apprehend his abductors.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rubochi, Michael Ada, had earlier confirmed that the traditional ruler was abducted at his residence on Tuesday last week by unknown gunmen.
Yohana Yusuf, a resident of the community, who also confirmed the release, said About N6 million ransom was paid before the chief was released by his abductors.
He said the traditional ruler was kidnapped about 1.30 am on Tuesday by unknown gunmen, who wore army camouflage in their numbers and carried sophisticated weapons, shot sporadically in the air before whisking away the chief.
Yusuf said that the kidnappers, collected the ransom before they set the traditional ruler free at a forest around Toto local government area of Nasarawa State.
