Adebayo sinks Prisons FC in derby cracker

The much anticipated local derby between Supreme Court FC and Prisons FC ended with Judiciary team thrashing Prisons 3-1.

The game which was decided inside old parade ground in Abuja was the first derby tie for both sides in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

It was an encounter that witnessed many fireworks early enough when sensational striker Joseph Adebayo nodded home a superlative cross from new boy Eric Eric to register the first goal which was incidentally his first goal of the season in the three minutes of play.

Down the line, the away team capitalized on defensive mistakes from their opponents before half time ended in 1-1 draw.

Getting into the second half, the Apex Boys as Supreme Court FC are fondly known came on like a house on fire before skillful Adebayo blasted past Prisons goalkeeper Alex Danladi to bag the second goal of the encounter for his team.

The derby tie continued with more shots on goal from both sides but the home side proved superior with several combinations by many tormentors- in-chief led by Adebayo, Ejike Orji and Eric who was later replaced by another new signing IssacItodo.

Substitute Jude Chibuike who came on for Peter Michael got the third goal to further cage Prison and get Supreme Court FC finish with a 3-1 victory

Scorer Adebayo despite missing one of the goals that would have made him a hat trick hero said “I’m happy to have scored two goal in our match today and I hope to keep scoring while the season progresses.”

Head Coach Henry Haggai who was full of praises for his players and his assistants Joachim Osuji reiterated “we will keep improving by the day. I told my boys to score two more goal and they went ahead to do just that though they would have scored more.”
