The Gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party,SDP in Adamawa state, Chief Emmanuel Bello has pledged to change the fortunes of the state if given the mandate by electorates in 2019 elections.
Chief Bello said the state has been neglected by successive administrations in terms of infrastructural and socio-economic developments, noting that he would run people oriented administration.
Bello promised to explore the untapped arable land in the state with a view to boost and revamping of our economic and social values in the state.
Bello also vowed to probe past executives who stole public funds if elected the state governor in 2019.
Bello who made the statement during the unveiling of his ten point agenda in Yola Tuesday noted that, it amounts to great disservice for any executive to betray the people by stealing resources meant for public good adding that for such reason, he will surely go for the jugular of any past governor who is indicted for corrupt enrichment.
He accused governor Bindow of perpetrating monumental heist in the last three years, pledging to come up with detailed analysis of the monumental sleaze during the gubernatorial debate.
Bello noted that security of life and property will get the priority attention of his government adding that he would deploy the instrumentality of community dialogue in resolving the lingering farmer/herders imbroglio that has consumed innumerable lives and properties.
He promised to form an all inclusive government and deploy personnel with the competencies and profundities to chart a new course for the state which according to him was experiencing monumental and paradoxical crisis as a result of a continuous leadership failure.
“Adamawa State has experienced monumental and paradoxical crisis of continuos failed leadership that has not met up with the basic needs of the people of the state. Successive governments were and still embedded in weakness of poor stewardship largely because of weak capacity of governance, misplaced political interests and lost focus on human value system,” he said.
Bello added that disturbed by the litany of failures, he decided to throw his hat into the ring in order to clear the mess generated by mediocre leadership in the past.
Some of the areas that are covered by his ten point agenda include: land reforms, provision of quality hospitals vis a vis healthy citizens, tapping water resources for optimal empowerment, ensuring a clean environment, providing education for all, promotion of investment, community security.
