The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, received formally to its fold all the APC members of the Assembly who dumped the party for PDP.

The occasion, which was witnessed by the state Deputy Governor, Barr. Bala James Ngillari, attracted a huge crowd and party supporters who thronged the PDP state secretariat amidst song and dance in commemoration of what many described as an auspicious moment in the political struggle of the PDP in Adamawa since the movement of Governor Murtala Nyako to the opposition party the APC.

The Speaker of Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, who led the members to the secretariat, informed the party executives that they were at the secretariat with all the 25 members of the Assembly to pledge an unalloyed support and solidarity to the Joel Madaki led PDP structure in the state.

Fintiri stated that preceding events in the Assembly clearly pointed to the bold step being taken by the legislators to ensure a complete PDP success in future elections and equally harped on their collective resolve to right the wrongs by ensuring that government is held accountable for failure in deliverance of dividends of democracy in the state.

Responding, state deputy chairman of the party, Alh. Jingi Rufai, received the law makers, presented them with PDP flags and informed them that the party wide umbrella is accommodating and that doors are opened to anybody who wishes join the party in the interest of developing the state.

However, the state Deputy Governor described the moment as a climax of good things that have come to salvage Adamawa State from the doldrums. He further noted that it was an indelible moment in the state’s history and charged all to ensure a PDP clean sweep of the state come 2015 elections so that a camaraderie will exist between the executive and the legislative arm of government.
