The acting governor of Adamawa state, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, has disclosed that he has approved the sum of N320 million for the payment of outstanding scholarship to students of tertiary institutions in the state.

Fintiri who made this known in Song the headquarters of Song Local Government while addressing a PDP campaign rally for October 11 Governorship by-election also said that plans have been concluded to renovate dilapidated structures in secondary schools across the state.

He said the schools to be renovated required over N2 billion. He said the present administration in the state has also revived feeding in boarding schools and payment of WAEC and other examination fees for students.

Also speaking, Prof. Jibril Aminu, said the people of Song like their counter parts in other part of the state had suffered under the past administration and had seen how the acting governor has brought relief to the state.

Aminu who hailed from Song said the people had resolved to vote Fintiri and there was no going back.

Sen Bello Tukur of Adamawa South senatorial district in his address condemned those trying to introduce tribal sentiment in their campaign and urged the people of Adamawa to resist them.

” Some people are campaigning saying Fintiri is anti Fulani; if really he is anti Fulani you wouldn’t have seen me and people like Jibril Aminu, Auwal Bamanga and other prominent Fulani men campaigning for him”, Tukur said.
