Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described the twin bomb blasts that occurred in Kaduna town at Alkali road and Kawo near Kawo Motor park yesterday that killed hundred innocent people and injured many as a National calamity and demand probe into the incident.

In a statement, signed by the group Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim made available newsmen in the state also described the blasts as a disservice to humanity and a great shock to the Nation especially in this Holy month of Ramadan.

” The bomb blast, coming after the Islamic cleric Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi had concluded this year’s Tafsir at Murtala Muhammad Square, Kaduna with prayers for peace and harmony to reign in Nigeria was worrisome and a national disaster considering the peace Kaduna had enjoyed in the last two years.

“The present insecurity situation in the country, especially in the Northern region has placed our people in a state of despair and helplessness, it has also crippled the socioeconomic activities of the region.

“ACF, therefore, condemns in strong term the senseless and inhuman act of terrorism being perpetrated by the insurgents and their collaborators against the Nigerian people especially the Kaduna twin bomb blast where innocent people in pursuit of their legitimate means of livelihood were killed and injured.

“ACF calls on the Government to decisively use all legitimate means and security apparatus at its disposal to tackle the insecurity situation that is gradually destroying our Nation.

“Once more, ACF wishes to appeal to the insurgents and other terrorists to lay down their arms.To embrace peace and dialogue as the killing of innocent people and destruction of their property is not a solution to any perceived injustice or grievance.

“ACF commiserates with the bereaved families and those injured by the twin bomb blast and urges the Kaduna State Government to provide free medical treatment to the injured persons while the National Emergency Management Agency to provide rehabilitation materials to those affected.

“ACF calls on the Kaduna state government to swiftly investigate this wicked act of terrorism against the people of Kaduna town that have witnessed relative peace in the last two years,” he said
