Accord party aspirant defects to PDP, supports Obaseki re-election

Accord party (AP) Governorship aspirant in Edo State, Comrade Godday Idahosa has defected to the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).
Idahosa, announced his defection on Friday at PDP Ward 8 and 9 rally in Uhiele in Esan West Local Government Area of the State.
He cited the leadership acumen of PDP Candidate for the September 19, 2020, Governor Godwin Obaseki as part of the reasons for his action.
He told members of PDP and supporters who converged at Uhiele primary school ground, urged his followers to re-elect Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Hon. Philip Shaibu whose first tenure will end on November 12, 2020 for a second term in office.
He said, “I have seen the good work of our Governor and I have decided to join him in transforming Edo State.
The politician was received by members of the PDP Campaign Council and the incumbent Governor of the the State.
Addressing party faithful in the locality, Governor Godwin Obaseki, urged the people to vote for him and assured of even development.
Obaseki who highlighted the challenges facing residents of area, promised to construct the Uhiele-Urohi-Ujiogba road.
He implored the eligible voters in the Local Government Area to join him to demystify the political godfather in Edo politics with their Permanent Voter cards (PVC’s) in the forthcoming poll.
A Chieftain of PDP from the area, Chief Felix Olifun, drum support for PDP in order to benefit from Goveenor Obaseki’s administration.
In a related development, Chairman of the Campaign Council in Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih on Friday counselled eligible voters in rural areas of Edo State against voter apathy.
Orbih, urged them not to go farm or market on September 19, 2020, which had been scheduled Governorship election in the State.
He said this while addressing party faithful in Ogua Ward 1, Esan West Local Government Area of the State.
According to him, “On the day of election, don’t day I want to quickly go to the farm or I want to go to the market. Once u wake up, get dressed and go to your poling unit to vote.
