Abdulsalami applauds Igbinedion varsity for service to humanity

Former Head of states, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rted), has renewed acquaintance with Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO), Edo state which he approved over 18 years ago.
He commended over 700 graduands and the Management of the Institution led by its Chancellor, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion for his dedication and service to humanity.
Abdulsalami, disclosed this at the 15th convocation ceremony of Nigeria’s premier University where four distinguished Nigerians, including Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and Umar Mantu, son of the former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu were honoured at the weekend.
The former head of state who was a guest during the convocation ceremony, urged Nigerians to be law abiding and maintain peace at all times, adding that leaders in the country should strive to lead well.
According to him, “I am very happy to say that Igbinedion University has got a reputation of peace and harmony.
“This is a testimony of your dedication and service to humanity.
“”If there is no peace, there is no University. If there is no peace, there is no Country. So, it is our duty at all times to maintain peace at all levels and also treat our Citizens right,” he said.
