6 feared Killed in Benin/Asaba Expressway auto crash

No fewer than Sixteen passengers out eighteen passengers in hallma Bus with registration number AA137 AS were feared Killed on Benin Asaba Expressway on Saturday at about 6.30pm.
Eyewitness, Mariam Jacob said the incident occurred around Igbodo Community few kilometers to Onicha ugbo community after the bus driver allegedly crashed into a deep pothole, a situation he veered out of his way while heading towards Onitsha with the passengers,
unfortunately sumersualted, leaving Sixteen passengers out of the eighteen feared Killed.
It was garthered that the two other passengers left only injured were said rushed to the federal Medical Center ( FMC) Asaba where they are currently responding to treatment, while the corpses of the Sixteen feared Killed were allegedly deposited in the same hospital mortuary as the cacas of the destroyed bus was removed by Officials of the road Safety Commission ( FRSC to their office in Issele Uku community.
Although the damaged bus was removed by Officials of the FRSC to their Issele Uku Community, but the scene the accident occurred was beseiged by a crowd of people believed to be Sympathizers, some seen crying profusely and weeping on the ground amidst regrets.
But the state Commander of the FRSC, Random Kulven who spoke to newsmen in Asaba confirmed that the accident occurred as a result of top speed that led the driver crashing into a deep pothole and subsequently summersualted into the bush, leaving Sixteen feared dead for their Sever injuries they Sustained before they were taking to the federal Medical Center ( FMC) in Asaba
He said: Investigation is ongoing and the bus was removed from the accident scene to the office of the FRSC in Issele Uku Community,it was unfortunate the driver of the bus was on top speed and crashed into a pothole before summersualting into the bush”.
At the FMC, the doctors were seen battling to save the lives of the two Survivors of the ghastly motor accident but refused to allow people into the ward.
