A total of 450 students formally began their academic journey in Edo University at the Weekend.
The newly admitted students for the 2018/2019 academic session of the University, also took matriculation oaths to be of good conduct.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, admonished the students to shun vices that can jeopardize their chosen career.
He recalled the numerous milestones the institution had achieved within 3 years of its existence.
He said the school currently rank 3rd in Nigeria and best amongst the state owned Universities in the 2018 Open Educational Resources ranking of Nigeria Universities by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
He also said the ivory tower also maintain the lead among Nigeria and West Africa Universities to acquire the CANVAS Learning Management System (LMS) for teaching in the University.
He enjoined the matriculants to make the best use of the facilities available in the university so that they can become well-grounded and employable after graduation from the University.
The Vice Chancellor revealed that of the 750 Candidates offered admission by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to study in the University, 450 students were given provisional admissions.
