Forty one communities and vulnerable groups in Bauchi State have benefited from over three hundred and seventy million naira under the State Community and Social Development Project CSDP
The World Bank assisted project which attracts the counterpart of one hundred million naira by the state government, provided about ten million naira to each of the benefiting communities and the vulnerable groups
Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, the state governor senator Bala Muhammad said the goal of the project was to improve the wellbeing of people especially at the rural areas
Senator Bala Muhammad charged the state community and social development project to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation to prevent execution of substandard work
While appreciating the world bank for complementing his administration’s determination for improving the lives of people, Bala Muhammad said he will maintain cordial relationship with donor agencies for socio economic development of the state.
The General manager of the state community and social development project Dr. Sadeeq Abubakar explained that the communities were allowed to proposed the projects of their need for optimal utilization of the facilities
Dr. Sadeeq Abubakar who called for using the fund for the purpose it was meant for, maintained that monitoring and evaluation will be intensified.
Some leaders of the benefiting communities, who expressed gratitude for the initiative, noted that the gesture is an indication of commitment to meeting their needs.
