A statement by the Deputy Director (Press), Timothy Oyedeji quoted the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Dr. GodknowsIgali to have made the disclosure while he played host to the team of the body of Permanent Secretaries in the Civil Service on Peer review mission.

He identified the key element of this initiative as it would make the civil service more responsive and accountable to the Nigerian people.

“For a long time Government has regulated the sector, the attending problems have been with us for long, now the determination of Government is to charge gear and allow the private sector to come in to power”.

Expressing optimism that Nigerians will soon experience uninterrupted power, he said that although Government has not privatize Transmission, with huge investment required in the evacuation of Power, Government is encouraging private sector to come into that sub-sector.
