The Executive Chairman of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa state, Honourable Yusuf Muhammad has confirmed the killing of three villagers and two Boko Haram terrorists in a fresh attack which occurred at Pallam Village in the council in the early hours of Tuesday.
Honourable Muhammad disclosed in a mobile phone interview in Yola that the insurgents struck at about 12:00 AM in Pallam Clinic where they shot the local security guard, who died on the spot,while they slaughtered one other victim whom they met at sight.
Muhammad said the terrorists moved further to raze down eighteen shops including one shop owner who was burnt beyond recognition in his shop due the intensity of the fire.
“Yes in the early hours of Tuesday, these Boko Haram terrorists struck in Pallam Village, shot two of our people and slaughtered one to death.
“They also burnt houses of villagers and razed down eighteen shops, burning one shop owner in his shop alive .
“I am appealing to Federal government to do more in tackling this menace as hardly a week passes by without recording one attack or the other by these bad boys in our area,”Muhammad decried
He stated that scores of houses of the villagers were also burnt after their food stuffs were carted away while one villager was lucky to have escaped with gunshot sustaining injury and he is being hospitalized.
The chairman added that, the local vigilante in conjunction with the military troops chased the insurgents up to Borno and Adamawa boarder where they gunned down two of them while some of the terrorists escaped with gun shots on their bodies in to Sambisa forest.
Fleeing residents say that the onslaught lasted for about five hours, ‘’ They sneaked into our town Pallam, midnight at about 11pm, and started shooting sporadically, killing and burning houses. They (Boko Haram members) had abducted some of our people mostly men.
When contacted, police spokesman in the state S.P Othman Abubakar said that, ‘’ the details of the attack shown that three villagers were killed .’’
Abubakar said the insurgents burnt houses and shops of the villagers explaining that the situation is under control as military troops and police have been deployed to the village.
