The convicts, Bala Hamza, 20; Shehu Abubakar, 21 and Isa Ishiaku, 22, all of no fixed address, were charged with wandering and constituting public Nuisance.

The judge, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced the accused persons after they pleaded guilty to the charge.

Sadiq gave them an option of N2,000 fine each and warned them to engage themselves in productive acts.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Simeon Emmanuel, told the court that the convicts were arrested by a team of policemen from Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, on May 18.

The prosecutor said that the team, led by SP Dudu Danjuma, while on crime prevention patrol within Dape village, Abuja, arrested the three men.

He said that they were caught wandering suspiciously around Dape, where criminals used as their hide outs.

Emmanuel said when the convicts were arrested, they could not give satisfactory account of themselves.

He said the offence contravened the Penal Code. (NAN)
