The Vice-chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abuja Southwest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief (Dr) Wasiu Tunwase, who doubled as the tunba of Yoruba Community in the FCT, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his promise by relinquishing power to a competent person in the Southwest zone of the country.
Otunba, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent during the Independence celebration in zuba, also charged Buhari not to frustrate the efforts of Southwest people in 2023.
“President Muhammadu Buhari should support the Southwest in 2023. Buhari should stand by his words, because in 2023 the Southwest will produce the next presidential candidate”, he said.
He called on Nigerian leaders irrespective of their positions to shun tribal sentiments as well as selfishness, urging them to embrace every Nigerian.
He then tasked Nigerians to continue praying for the progress and development of the country, saying that with prayers the nation would overcome its challenges or problems.
His words: “Nigeria at 59, we thanked Almighty God that the country is moving forward. And I pray that we would continue to see more years ahead”.
While commenting on the unity of Nigerians, Otunba said despite the different ethnic groups in Nigeria, the nation remained one indivisible entity, and urged Nigerians to love one another.
He, therefore, appealed to Nigerian youths to always support the government in all ramifications for the sake of development, warning them to shun violence.
Dr Tunwase, who is a Special Adviser (SA) to the chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Mr Adamu Mustapha Danze on inter-governmental affairs, used the interview as a forum to applaud the chairman for environmental cleanliness in the area.
