The immediate past Governor of Niger state, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has said that 2019 will be the year of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) to return to power; hence it will not deceived the people, and their rights are assured when voted into power.
Aliyu made this known at Paiko, in Paikoro local government, during the party’s Zonal rally of Zone B senatorial district of Niger State, saying that the false corruption accusation against them by the opposition APC was not acceptable and that ‘it is a lie’.
He stated that the people have learnt their lessons for voting out PDP, calling on the citizens to vote for the PDP come 2019 to ensure they didn’t go to bed hungry, sure of their security and salary payments, while contractors will not be contracted in secrecy as experienced currently in Niger State.
Former governor Aliyu stressed that they will not be intimidated by anyone noted that the tsunami of the APC emergence was over and has wasted over two years of its administration especially in Niger state that has nothing to show to the electorates due to lack of ideas but continues blaming game.
He hinted that the only political party that can get Nigeria out of its current hardship is the PDP who have the capacity, experience and knowledge to drive the economy of the country to greater heights.
The PDP stalwart said that the people have been able to identify who is their own just as the party has continued to wax stronger however described the decampees as betrayals while charging for registration and collection of PVC as the only way the APC could be voted out of power in 2019.
“We have done it before and you all saw it, every Nigerian enjoys our administration in times of provision of security and other developmental projects. Our return will bring you more dividend of democracy” he said.
Aliyu further stated in an interview that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has become too scared to hold its convention added that despite challenges of PDP had been able to hold its convention challenging the APC to do same.
“After two and a half years after they came into power, APC is becoming scared of their shadow. They have become too afraid to hold an election convention after the first convention they had that brought the executives. Fear is the reason why APC is unable to hold its convention” he stated.
The State Party Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji in his remarks however reassured of the party’s resolved to be fair and just to all members noted that the rally indicated victory for the party in 2019 as they will remain resolute, focused to the aspiration of the party without intimidations from any quarters.
Beji urged those interested in the PDP to come on board without delay while he appreciated the ‘unprecedented’ crowd experienced at the rally which he said was a sign of acceptance to return to power that the people are desperately waiting for.
The event was attended by the gubernatorial aspirant of the party Engr Hanafi Muazu Sudan who received heavy cheers from the murmured crowd, PDP national financial secretary, North Central Chairman of the party and the state Exco as well as the Exco of the nine local councils comprising the zone and party supporters.
