National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiohmole has expressed his party’s readiness to engage the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on issue based campaign.
Addressing party supporters at the Eagle Square, venue of the party’s third convention to elect its presidential candidate, Oshiomohle said the party and its presidential candidate have what it takes to show for their achievements within the last three and the half years.
“Unlike the other party, which ruled for 16 years, and printed only one presidential form and came up with 2 million signatures from unverified individuals in 2015, the APC has more democratic process, using the direct primary method which gave all registered party members a true sense of participation.”
He explained that the purpose of the direct primary chosen by the party was to formally affirm the presidential candidate by conducting direct primary.
“We are happy for making today possible, for this third convention to elect the next Presidential candidate of our party. Our President is leading by example by allowing every APC member to participate in the primary, and to decide whether or not you are entitled to contest for the general election.
“Mr. President, while you are away for the United Nations General Assembly, Nigerians quee to vote for you with a best of conviction that you can lead the country. I congratulate all members for the show of love and solidarity.

He thanked the convention committee, led by Abiola Ajimobi for organizing what he described as one of the best convention. “On behalf of the National Working Committee and the leadership of our party, we say big thank you for a job well done.”
