2019 polls: Gombe NUJ trains journalists adequate reportage

Nigeria Union of Journalists Gombe state council yesterday embarked on a pre-2019 general training of journalists to sensitized them on the need of adequate reportage during elections period.
Chairman of the Union Alhaji Saidu Bappah Malala while appreciating the gesture called on journalists to do everything possible in ensuring to their profession seriously by biding with the rules and regulations of the Union.
He advised journalists to always adhered to the ethics that guided the profession which according to him will end respect among the profession.
While commenting the turn out of the media practitioners in the state, the chairman enjoined them not to hesitate in working hard in ensuring that their reportage sustain good governance in the country.
He said the training was aimed at sensitizing journalists to prepare themselves before the commencement of the general elections in 2019.
In his remarks, Commissioner Ministry of Information and Orientation in Gombe state Alhaji Umar Ahmed Suleiman who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry Alhaji Saidu Baba Gadam reiterated it’s commitment which he described Journalists as input in governance.
The Permanent Secretary who represented the commissioner of information thank NUJ for organizing such workshop inorder to enlighten the media on the pre 2019 general elections.
