The Chairman of Council of Yoruba Oba and Traditional rulers in the nineteen northern states and Abuja Ambassador Muhammad Arigbagbowo has called on Yoruba at home and in Diaspora to show decorum as they approach the 2019 electioneering year.
He stated this while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, the Yoruba race are known to be peaceful people and God fearing he therefore advised them to show same quality as the country approaches the electioneering year for the benefit of their people and the nation at large.
“From the colonial days we worked for the freedom of our country, we are a force to recongnise with in political, economy and security of the nation.
“We should therefore proof ourselves to be educated and intelligent race by appplying wisdom in the 2019 elections issues.
“Yes the Yoruba contributes to the success of president Muhammad Buhari victory at the 2015 elections.so we have a responsibility to see to the success of the regime.
‘ All South West leaders, either political, religion or traditional must come together to map out a program that will benefit the Yoruba race in 2019 and also moved the nation forward.
“ Personal ego and sell gains should not decides who to support in the elections but the interest of the Yoruba race and the nation must take the fore place,”He said.
Ambassador Arigbagbowo expressed dismay over the killings in the country. He said despite the effort of security agents the killings remains unabated, therefore he called on all well-meaning Nigerians to keep praying for the success of the gallant troops working round the clock to keep the country safe.
The Yoruba monarch appealed to the Federal Government to pay all entitlement of the security agents as at when due in order to boost their morale.
