From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
Former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, has said that the 2019 election is not about an individual, but “ the future of Nigeria”.
Shema said this at the weekend in Katsina during the flag off campaign for the Presidential, governorship, National and State assembly in the state.
“2019 election is not about an individual, but about your future, my future, and the future of Nigeria.
“APC people are disconnected at all levels, we must vote APC out. We should come out en mass to vote for PDP candidates at all levels. Whatever they give you collect it and vote for PDP candidates who loves,” he said.
In his remarks, the PDP governorship candidate, Sen Yakubu Lado Danmarke said he would accord security a top priority, if elected.
“It is unfortunate for a governor to come out and say the state is under seige. We are going to focus attention and address insecurity during the first 100 days of my administration,” he said.
He also said that the government would restore payment of school fees, free healthcare, Almajiri feeding programne and foreign scholarship that was stopped by the present APC administration in the state.
Danmarke further said that his administration would make fertilizers available and affordable to farmers in the state if elected.
He revealed that he has a lot of plans for youth and women empowerment to make them self reliant.
Danmarke, however, said that he would not implement pension scheme for retirees in the state.
“I need your support and commitments to vote APC out of power at all levels during the elections,” he said.
