2018: Yobe govt. earmarks N300m as furniture loan to civil servants

Civil servants in Yobe state will smile in early January, 2018 as the state government has set aside the sum of N300 million as furniture loan in other to boost the morale of staff for more productive, efficient service rendering to improve the economy of the state.
The state Head of Service, Alh. Sale Abubakar stated this while briefing newsmen on the activities and achievements of the state government within the last fiscal year.
He said the loan which is a revolving scheme of the state government would ensure that others civil servants benefit as beneficiaries pay back.
He said the state government has, within the period under review earmarked reasonable sum of money for the payment of pensions and gratuity areas to state government retirees and families of deceased officers in addition to payment of staff of the local governments Other areas, he said, includes the supply of furniture and equipment to six newly constructed and renovated ministries, construction of five chalets and remodeling of the main lodge at the presidential lodge, Damaturu.
He said the state government did not leave any sector behind but ensured that all the sectors, especially road, health, water and other ministries were supported, within the state budget to execute projects that has impacted positively to the lives of the people in addition to training and retraining of staff.
He said it on record that the state government has equally sponsored indigenes of the state on scholarship basis, to undergo courses especially in the health sector to provide the needed manpower for effective services to people in the state.
He assured that the state government has made furthers arrangement in the coming year, and before the end of the tenure of present administration of Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam, to put the civil service on a good footing.
