Ahead of the2015elections, the ambassador of the United States of America to Nigeria, Mr. James F. Entwistle, on behalf of his country yesterday donated some high tech bomb disposal robots equipment to the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja.
While receiving the equipment in his office, the Ag. inspector General of Police (IGP) Suleiman Abba thanked the US government for assisting the Nigeria Police Force in areas of investigation, management of scene of crime as well as position of equipment.
The IGP described the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed by the Nigeria Police Force and the US government recently, as a huge partnership that will improve and modernize Police training in Nigeria, restating his commitment to continue to drive reforms and transformation of the Force in order to reposition the Force for better service delivery and promised that the newly donated equipment would be put to effective use.
Abba said though the Police is presently ready for the election, there is still need to be completely ready for the election.
He further said several efforts have been made to reform the Force including reforming personnel attitude to work, adding that the Police is doing everything possible to inculcate the right values in every officer.
Earlier in his remarks, the ambassador thanked the Nigeria Police for its high level of co-operation and huge partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria, reassuring the Ag. IGP that his country will continue to render relevant supports to the Force in the areas of training and security cooperation.
