2015: President picks PDP nomination form today

President Goodluck Jonathan will today pick the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest Form to contest the 2015 Presidential election on the party’s platform.

Although the President is expected to pay the sum of N22 million for the party’s forms, his supporters across the country have been able to raise the sum of N100.5 million to that effect.

Jonathan, who has yet to formally declare his intention to contest the presidential election, will be picking the form to beat the October 30th deadline set by his party for interested candidates to obtain nomination forms to contest the 2015 elections.

Briefing state house correspondents on the matter, Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said “President Jonathan thanks all Nigerians, members of the PDP, friends, associates, and all groups who in sincere appreciation of the achievements of the administration in the last four years, have been urging him to seek a second term in office.

“President Jonathan is greatly encouraged by the overwhelming outpouring of goodwill and support, as well as the confidence of the generality of Nigerians in his ability to continue to transform the country for the good of its entire people.

The President is also grateful to all the persons, groups and communities who have sent donations, and made pledges to assist him to pay the required N22 million for the PDP Presidential nomination fee and expression of interest form.”

Those he acknowledged to have contributed to Jonathan’s nomination form fee were Mr. Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme(N5, 000), Mr Ezemagu Sunday Nnamdi(N10, 000), PDP Governors( N22 Million), Transformation Agenda of Nigeria, TAN(N22m) Ogbia LGA Stakeholders, Bayelsa state(N5m) Otuoke Community Stakeholders(N2m) Brass LGA Stakeholders, Bayelsa state( N50, 000) Bayelsa State PDP Stakeholders(N5m), Northern Youths Forum ( N2m), Central Market Traders Union, Kaduna State( N1m), PDP Stakeholders, Zaria LGA(N500, 000), PDP Stakeholders, Yobe State (N500, 000), PDP Stakeholders, Kaduna State( N2m)

and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore(N5m.)
