As the 2015 elections draw nearer, Nigerian politicians have been described as accidental politicians who have no focus in the country’s politics.
The National Secretary General of Jama’atu Nasrul Islam, Dr Khalid Aliyu has said.
Dr Khalid who said this yesterday during the closing ceremony of the 29th annual Qur’anic competition held at the Jos Central Mosque, in Jos, the Plateau State capital, also explained that the country’s politicians were materialistic and power acquisitive rather than working for the interest of the masses, adding that he wondered if Nigerians politicians really have the knowledge of the Nigerian constitution.
He further called on the Nigerian citizenry that as the February 2015 poll was fast approaching; voters should be wise while electing who would sincerely represent them at all levels.
In furtherance of that, Aliyu urged Muslims across the country to hugely engaged in the Holy Qur’anic recitation just as he said, regular recitation of the glorious Qur’an would help to wipe away the current security challenges as well as other societal problems, adding that people should at all the times have respect for the Holy Qur’an.
The Secretary General however called on Muslims to be co-operative, patient and forgiven among the Muslim Ummah.
