From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina

Katsina State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Rabi’u Gambo Bakori, has called on the party faithful in the state to intensify prayers for the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema, to emerge the President in 2015.

The chairman made the call yesterday at the PDP state secretariat while receiving 364 decampees from the All Progressive Congress, APC to PDP from Batsari and Katsina local governments.

Bakori urged the party supporters to intensify their prayers towards the actualization of Shema’s presidential ambition as, according to him, the governor is the most honest, transparent and trustworthy among all the nation’s governors.

The chairman added that Shema has transformed all sectors of the state and these, according to him, areas of infrastructural development, education, health, skill acquisition and women empowerment among others.

He similarly cautioned the decampees against supporting politicians who have nothing to offer. “If a meeting of the PDP is not called by the governor or his wife, don’t attend it. PDP is one under governor Shema in Katsina State,” he stressed.

Bakori equally counseled the decampees to uphold the principles of trust, hard work and dedication to party progress, calling on PDP leaders in the decampees domain to treat them like any other member of the party.

In her remarks, the wife of the state governor, Hajiya Fatima Shema, called on the decampees to honestly work for the success of the party in Katsina and the country at large, promising that they would be carried along in all its affairs.

Shema, who promised more goodies for the decampees, donated 50 bags of millet to be shared among the 364 decampees.

Earlier a leader of the decampees, Hauwa Tudun ‘Yan Lihidda, noted that they decided to dump their former party and join the PDP due to the state governor’s transformational strides in the state.
