From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

A gubernatorial aspirant in Kano State, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Mu’azu Magaji Dawakin Tofa, said he has the clout to transform state with his 5-point agenda if elected at the helm of affairs at the state’s exalted office.

Dawakin Tofa, who is currently enjoying the spoils of office as the Senior Special Assistant on projects to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, stated this while addressing newsmen, during his declaration to contest in the state’s gubernatorial race, yesterday in Kano.

According to him, he is out to build his political journey upon the 5-point agenda as a roadmap to achieve his mission of transforming the state as the new “Dubai of the Sahel”, if elected as the state’s governor come 2015.

The 5-point agenda include, sustaining the legacy, style and substance of Kwankwasiyya leadership, Catalyzing the emergence of a modern commercial city and prosperity of its people, resuscitation of Kano triangle of prosperity around agriculture, commerce and industries, educational and economic empowerment for youth and women, as well as promotion of peace, tolerance, culture and religion.

However, the Kwankwasiyya stalwart stated that he is prompted to join the gubernatorial race in the state, in order to answer series of calls from various political groups and organisations, under the Kwankwaso Support Groups called Kwankwasiyya March II.

He also vowed to maintain the solid foundation of a modern state laid by Governor Rabiu Kawankwaso, adding that dynamic continuity is what the state requires nowadays to develop.

“Today, a revolution and solid foundation for a modern state are being laid once again by our leader and mentor, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Losing this great momentum is in no way negotiable. We cannot afford to allow a break in time of the course of this great journey. Dynamic continuity is what Kano apparently requires to develop today and by God’s grace we would attain to that” he said.
