From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
A group, under auspices of Amalgamated Democracy Awareness in Bauchi state, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to release the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed to contest the state gubernatorial election in 2015.
The Chairman of the group, Haruna Adamu Maihula, made the call yesterday in Bauchi during a meeting it held at Reinsurance House Bauchi, saying that the FCT minister remains the best out of all the other aspirants currently vying for the office.
Maihula said that the call became necessary in view of the level of transformation that had been witnessed since Mohammed was appointed as the FCT minister by President Jonathan.
“We are calling on Senator Bala Mohammed to come and contest for the governorship election because we are confident that he would transform Bauchi State the way he has transformed the FCT because the state is in dire need of the kind of leadership he has demonstrated,” he said.
Chairman of the group also appealed to the people of the state to rally round and support the FCT minister for governor come 2015 to continue the good work of the present administration of Isa Yuguda in the state.
Maihulan said that the group would soon begin mobilising their members across the 20 local government areas in the state for the realisation of the Senator Mohammed mandate.
The meeting was attended by several market groups comprising of students, farmers, artisans, traders and market women.
