The majority leader of Gombe state House of Assembly, Mamman Alkali, has pledged to work towards ensuring that the incumbent Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, is re-elected to office for a second term.
The lawmaker, who represents Pero-Chonge Constituency in the Gombe State House of Assembly, made this disclosure yesterday in Gombe during an interview with our correspondent.
He also said that the re-election of Governor Dankwambo for a second term in office is necessary due to his laudable achievements, which has contributed to the development of the state.
While commending the performance of the Governor, the lawmaker urged the people of the state to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging them to, as a matter of urgency, get their permanent voter cards to enable them vote for candidates of their choice.
He assured that the ruling party would continue to work harmoniously with federal government to ensure that people in the state benefitted from the dividend of democracy in the country, even as he noted that PDP government in the state, under the leadership of Governor Dankwambo, will continue to move the state forward.
Speaking further, Alkali emphasized the need for political stakeholders to support the re-election of Governor Dankwambo, saying this would encourage the Governor to complete his transformation agenda he has started in the state.
He boasted that there is no party other than PDP that would win the state in the 2015 general election in the state, even as he argued that PDP in the state has already set modalities in place to ensure victory in 2015.
He said there would be no hiding place for the opposition who came out to make noise without solution, saying that the PDP would continue to work for the success of the nation.
He added that there is need for supporters to ensure that they protect their votes before living the polling centres in the forth coming general elections.
