From David Hassan, Gombe.
Gombe state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kudu Nma has warned politicians to stay away from recruiting miscreants as agents in order to disrupt the peace of citizens, even as he said the Police are ready to crush any unlawful citizen who engages in perpetrating evil act in the state.
The Police boss made this known yesterday in Gombe while parading 22 suspected hoodlums whom he said were arrested by the Police patrol team in Gombe metropolis.
He said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off when Police patrol 999 team, gathered information that the suspects were planning to disrupt the peace of citizens in the state, before they were arrested by its men close to Federal Teaching Hospital, in Gombe.
According to him, its command would continue to hunt down miscreants who do not want to see the progress of the people, noting that its men would not relent in crushing hoodlums found wanting as the command would ensure citizens slept with their two eyes closed.
The CP said during the arrest, the police were able to recover dangerous weapons from the suspects, which he said the suspects might have acquired through some politicians in order to disrupt the peace of meaningful Nigerians.
He however stressed that the command would work round the clock with a view to halting the resurfaced Kalarare activities in the state, noting that the police are fully on ground to protect the lives and property of the people.
While speaking to journalists, the leader of the suspects, whose name was given as Aliyu Ibrahim, claimed to be a member of ward Marshal with membership registration number 132, he told newsmen that one Ali, a Gombe resident gave them contract to cut grass for him, promising to pay them.
