Former National publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on political Affairs, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali, has called on the people of Gombe state to support the transformation agenda of the President.
Alkali made this call yesterday in Gombe when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo at the Government House chamber in Gombe.
According to him, Jonathan’s administration has touched the lives of the people in so many positive ways.
He thanked the President for finding him worthy to serve and just as he urged people of the state to support his programmes, adding that his appointment will add more value for the development of the state.
Alkali also commended Dankwambo for fighting hard to ensure that common man in the state benefit from the dividends of democracy which, according to him, he will continue to do his best at the national level to ensure that the lives of citizens of Gombe are protected.
The Jonathan’s aide told the governor that his appointment by the President clearly showed that he had the people of the state at heart, noting that there was need for the citizens of the state to embrace his transformation agenda to enable him succeed in his primary assignment.
He assured that he will work harmoniously with Dankwambo to ensure that the state benefits at the national level.
Responding, the governor assured that his government would not relent in supporting the President’s transformation agenda even as he added that the state was overwhelmed when the President appointed Alkali as his aid.
He said the state would continue to pray for the nation stressing that Alkali’s appointment has given Gombe citizen a sense of belonging, noting that there is need for the people of the state to support president Jonathan.
He however noted that this is not the first time that President Jonathan is appointing Gombe citizen into key position at the national level and promised that his administration would do its best to ensure that the people of the state support the President.
