The Chief Imam of Bauchi, Alhaji Bala Ahmed Baban-Inna has enjoinedNigerians to continue to pray for the country to have credible leadership ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Alhaji Bala Baban-Inna in his sermon at the Bauchi Central Eid-el ground shortly after the two Eid-el Kabir raka’at prayers said its only prayers that would ward-off the multifarious calamities befalling our country.
He also prayed that God in His infinite wisdom will provide succor to our problems and chart a course for peaceful co-existing among the diverse Nigerians with different backgrounds.
“We pray that whoever emerges as a leader at whichever level of governance is the choice of the Almighty God, but not borne out of personal or self aggrandizement”, Baban-Inna sermonized.
The chief Imam further prayed God not to allow unscrupulous persons be elected as leaders. “Don’t allow us vote for unscrupulous, ingrate, unreligious, callous, or who will lead people astray” he prayed.
The two Eid-el Kabir raka’at prayers led by the Bauchi chief Imam was also performed in company of the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Sagir Aminu
Salah, some top government officials and traditional rulers.
The state Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda who flew into Bauchi prior to the occasion, shortly after his investiture with the national award of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON), observed the Eid-el Kabir prayers at his Yuguda village in the state.
