First Son of former governor of Sokoto State, Sagir Dalhatu Bafarawa has purchased nomination form to contest for the Sabon Birni/Isa federal constituency in the National Assembly.
Sagir, who is vying on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), told journalists in Sokoto that his conviction to vie for the legislative seat is to offer genuine service to his people, as his father had done in the past.
“We must not come into politics because of money rather to represent and assist our people hence the attitude of helping people has been in my family right from my grandfather to my father.
“Therefore, if you see politics as a money making business then you are wrong. I am coming into politics to help people having seen how my father used to help people here and there, that is why I decided to join politics to also help people”.
Commenting on the aspirant in the forthcoming poll, his political associate, Nafiu Bello Basakkawce optimised that the former governor’s heir would win the race, saying that it is time for youths to take up their rightful position in the polity of the nation.
