The All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared that it has a bright chance to overrun the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state following the high level of dissatisfaction of the people against the gross failure of government and its level of underdevelopment in the state.
APC Niger Congress Committee Secretary, Comrade Sabo Mohammed, disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Minna yesterday, saying that Niger state has become an APC state by virtue of the tremendous support of the people yearning for positive change in the state.
He stated that the people were dissatisfied with the mismanagement of scarce resources of the state by the PDP government and the way the state governor, Muazu Babangida Aliyu, was conducting the affairs of the state.
“If you can go to ordinary men in the streets, they are yearning for change and APC is set to change the misadministration of PDP government in Niger state. So, if the members of APC can bring themselves together and work as members of genuine APC, the issue of PDP will be history in the state in 2015”, he said.
Comrade Sabo noted that the turnout of members for the APC registration was tremendous and that the passion and enthusiasm with which the people had embrace the party in the state was an indication that the 2015 election in Niger will be a walk over by APC.
Sabo, who is an APC chieftain from Bauchi state and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) also took a swipe at the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, saying that he is a spent force not relevant in the political equation of Bauchi state.
Sabo reassured that all arrangements have been concluded for the conduct of state congress on Surtaday. He also advised contestants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship after the congresses in order to maintained unity and 2015 gather momentum to enable the APC take over government at all levels of governance in Nigeria.
