Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured its faithful that despite the challenges confronting the party, it would emerge victorious in the 2015 general elections.

The party also pledged that it would offer a level playing ground for all aspirants to test their popularity in all the elective positions during the party’s primaries.

The party’s Chairman, Mr. Roqeeb Adeniji, who spoke in Abeokuta, the state capital, in an address he delivered at a rally appreciated the support of party loyalists who he said had been “faithful in keeping the machineries of the party functioning till date”.

He explained that the rally afforded him and members of his executive to appreciate the support of party supporters since the conduct of wards, local and state congresses in April this year.

According to Adeniji “Since the last conduct of the party’s ward, local and state congresses as well as the attendant inauguration, there has never been opportunity for the elected state party executive members to say thank you. But the rally was to publicly present state ex-co members to party loyalists to enable them properly familiarize with other members of the party”.

“We are also to re-assure party loyalists that Ogun APC has not and will never lose its firm grip of the state’s polity as being championed by opposition parties in their propaganda that they will take over Ogun state from APC and Amosun”.

Adeniji, who said he was overwhelmed by the various successes recorded by APC in the areas of infrastructural development across the state, also assured loyalists that Amosun would emerge victorious for another term of office “irrespective of the propaganda and lies peddled against him by members of the opposition political parties”.

According to him the rally was also organised to “let party loyalists know that the party has resolved to allow a level playing ground for all aspirants. I want to tell you that neither Amosun as the governor nor any of the party leaders has any anointed candidates for any of the elective positions. The party will allow every aspirant to go for the primaries and whoever emerges for any position would be fielded as our candidate in the elections”.
