The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the North east sub region have endorsed former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as Nigeria’s president in 2015.

The stakeholders at a zonal press conference ,  at the Zaranda Hotel in Bauchi at weekend,    called on  all people in the North east states that includes Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe Taraba, Yobe  and Nigerians to support Atiku for president as it would solve the leadership challenges confronting the nation.

In his speech, the Director General of the Atiku Support Group,  Alhaji Abdulrazaq Namdas, said the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has all its take to serve  as the Nigerian President, with the wealth of administrative experience, business and cordial relationship with all sections of the country

Namdas said Atiku Abubakar is the leader that is a detribalized politician who should be supported for the interest of the much desired Igbo presidency, further describing him as a selfless person and a democrat that the people desires to come and salvage the nation’s democracy.

Abdulrazaq Namdas added that Atiku has judiciously contributes to the promotion of unity and religious tolerance in the country.

Also speaking the Bauchi state coordinator of Atiku Abubakar for President, Alhaji Shehu Barau Ningi, urged the people to come out enmasse and to rally round the former vice president who he described as a political giant and administrator per excellence.

“As you can see, Nigeria of today is not the same with Nigeria of yesterday, the kind of challenges we are facing today are not same with the kind of challenges we face some years back. Crime rate has

risen to a new level and criminal activities have taken a new dimension such as armed robbery, theft thuggery, prostitution and drug abuse are no longer seen as crimes.

That is why we are calling on the party not to hang its fate on a new comer but rather on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who has established himself and is indeed a household name in Nigerian politics” Ningi said.

A representative from Adamawa State, Alhaji Abdullrahman Abba Jimeta described the north east as the most backward, isolated ,dilapidated and under developed  region in the country that is the more reason the people needed their own to salvage the region.

He said “We have never produced the president in the North east region, we are appealing to the other region to gives us the chance this time around”.

Abba explained that “Atiku was different from other aspirants because of his credibility and steadfastness and he has been in the forefront of rotational presidency in the country.”

Jimeta said the people of the region are appealing to Atiku to join the presidential race without further delay, for them to start their homework in earnest.
