Tambuwal vs AmaechiFrom Yakubu Mustapha, Minna

The Niger State Governor, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has described the publication alleging his sponsoring a Tambuwal/Amaechi presidential ticket in 2015 election, saying the report was enemy action aimed at misleading Nigerians.

The Governor who made his position known in a signed statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Israel A. Ebije, stated that Amaechi who was fingered to have made the revelation has since denied knowledge of the story and has distanced himself from the online publication.

Aliyu therefore, maintained that the publication which claimed he and Lamido had deceived Amaechi to leave the PDP for the opposition to pursue political ambition as Vice President in the next general election is spurious adding that it’s aimed at misleading Nigerians.

“Let me state clearly that Lamido and I never asked Rotimi Amaechi to contest the 2015 presidential election with Tambuwal. Why should we be the ones to ask him to run for Vice President when he is capable of pursuing any carrier of his choice without our counsel?”

“I believe those behind the publication have been hired to mislead Nigerians. They intend to engage in wrong claims purposely to satisfy the narrow interest of their paymasters.”

He frowned at the way and manner online media platforms have been taken over by mercantile reporters adding that they have veered off from the ethical practice associated with traditional journalism.

He therefore called on online journalists to desist from rogue journalism adding that they must imbibe the ethical requirement of verifying claims before circulating information made available to them by enemies of democracy.

Aliyu said, Allah alone can determine the next president in the 2015 election adding that the will of God will surely prevail on who will finally emerge. He therefore cautioned Nigerians on the need to use the media positively.
