No fewer than forty aspirants including an incumbent Senator and a House of Representatives member have obtained the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination forms to contest Senatorial, House of Representatives and state assembly for the 2015 general elections.

The Secretary of the 20-man committee for the sale of the forms, Alhaji Abubakar Kantoma disclosed this to newsmen in Sokoto on Tuesday.

Kantoma said that the incumbent Senator who is seeking re-election is Senator Ahmed Maccido representing Sokoto central, while the incumbent member of the House of Representatives is Alhaji Umar Bature from Sokoto South/North federal constituency.

Peoples Daily gathered that some notable new entrants seeking to represent their people at the national assembly have also emerged.

The aspirants include the son of Nigeria’s former Finance Minister and Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, Aminu who want to represent the Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency.

The 45-year old politician shortly after purchasing the form said he is seeking to represent his people in order to uplift their living standard.

Meanwhile, Senator Ahmed Maccido has expressed optimism that the party will emerge victorious at all levels during the forthcoming general elections.

“PDP has delivered, it will continue to deliver to Nigerians under its indefatigable national leader, President Goodluck Jonathan,” Maccido added.
