2014 Hajj: Emir of Jiwa hosts stakeholders, media to Walima

ICT Amirul Hajj for this year’s Hajj exercise to the holy land and the Emir of Jiwa in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Musa Idris, at the weekend hosted stakeholders to a launching at his palace in Jiwa.

The walima was attended by director of the FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board, Malam Bashir Muhammad, staff of the board, airline carriers, representatives of other stakeholders and the media.

According to the host, his Royal Highness, Alhaji Musa Idris, The walima was organised to thank God for the success recorded during the Hajj operation and to commend the team for achieving a hitch free exercise.

The monarch also commended the airline carriers for meeting the dead line of transporting the FCT pilgrims to the holy land and back to Nigeria.

He attributed the success recorded during this year’s Hajj to the encouragement given by the board director and the cooperation of the entire staff.

He however appealed to airline carriers to transport pilgrims’ 10 liters entitled ZamZam water to Nigeria and urged them to do better in the 2015 hajj.

The monarch, who disclosed that FCT pilgrims got the best accommodation in Makkah and Madina, thanked the FCT minister and the Minister of State for ensuring that all that was needed for the success of the operation was made available and appealed to them to sustain the tempo saying accommodation is the most essential part of pilgrims’ welfare.

Responding, FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board, Malam Bashir Muhammad, who also thanked his team for their resilience, hard work and cooperation towards the successful completion of the exercise, expressed optimism that with the team of experienced staff at the board he does no doubt his success.

He said already the board has started preparations for the 2015 hajj adding that the standard set will be maintained to achieve a more successful operation in future.
